It is one hundred and seventeen years since Derby County took to the fields at the Crystal Palace ground against local rivals Nottingham Forest. The occasion was the first FA Cup final that involved the Rams.
A ticket for that FA Cup final tie is to go on sale later this month at Graham Budd auctions in London and is expected to be sold for £1000. Not bad for a ticket that cost two shillings and six pence, this in today’s money is just over 12p.
The final tie took place on Saturday 16th of April 1898 and a crowd of 62,017 watch proceedings.
