The Rams are going ahead with plans to build a multi million pound Football Academy on the Moor Farm site in Oakwood.

Despite having just been relegated and apparent unrest in the boardroom the £5million project will go ahead and is hoped to be completed by the end of next season.

There had been worries about the development after last weeks resignation of Vice-Chairman Peter Gadsby and Director John Kirkland who where said to be the driving force behind the project. Rams chief executive Keith Loring has however emphasised that plans for the site had been put in place a while ago and they will not be affected by goings on either on or off the pitch.

Once complete the new Academy should be one of the best facilities in the country and is hoped that this will aid Derby County's search for future talented players and reduce the need to pay high prices in the transfer market.
