Managing Director Mike Horton brings in the PFA but insists nothing is wrong
Derby County have had to call in PFA mediators to try and sort out what seems a row ready to explode and possibly ruin the Rams season.

The issue is one of payments to newly signed players should the club reach the Premiership this season. The payments are said to be astronomical and players who have been at the club for some time are not happy with the situation.

Mike Horton, Derby County's managing Director has said that the PFA involvement does not indicate that there is a rift within the club, but the very fact they are involved seems to indicate just the opposite.

The sad thing about the current situation is Derby County are not yet in the Premiership and still the lure of money, or more of it in many cases, seems to have sidetracked the players when they should all be coming together and trying to achieve the goal of promotion to the championship.

Hopefully the issue will be swiftly sorted out and with minimal disruption to the players involved.
