Stephen Bywater to stay with the Rams following Spurs change of mind over the keeper
Stephen Bywater's dream move to Tottenham Hotspur has been cancelled. The Rams keeper went to white hart lane for a medical on Friday last week and it seemed that a £200,000 deal was almost complete. However Spurs had a re-think over the weekend and sensationally turned the move down.

Bywater is understandably upset over the late call but will now remain with the Rams for the time being. This has enabled Derby to put on hold a search for a loan keeper.

Derby are expected to keep Bywater until Lewis Price recovers from a cartilage operation, which could rule him out of action for several months.

Rams manager Paul Jewell is said to be happy that Bywater will be stopping with the Rams. He said it will certainly give Roy Carroll some competition for the Rams goalkeeping position ...
