Commons hamstring verdict expected tomorrow

The Rams boss Nigel Clough will have his fingers crossed for good news tomorrow, as he influential midfield player, Kris Commons undergoes a scan on the hamstring injury that forced him out of yesterday's game against Swansea.

Commons has had trouble with the hamstring before but has been in good form lately, netting two goals in his previous three games with his partnership with striker Rob Hulse.

The scan will reveal if Commons has badly damaged the hamstring but early indications are that it is only a strain. Only when the scan results are known tomorrow will and decision be made on the next course of action for Commons.

Yesterdays game seemed to hinge on several key moments and the loss of Commons could have been a major point. The midfielder was the source of many of Derby's creative moves in the game and the revival in form of the Rams in recent games.

Hopefully and lay-off will be short for Commons and Derby can carry on with the excellent results over the last month....
