Rams boss Billy Davies has been fined £1000 for using insulting and/or abusive words towards a match official in the game against Southend in January 2007. The ban is also followed with a touchline ban, so Derby County will start their second stint in the Premiership with David Kelly taking instructions pitch side. Davies will communicate via a radio to his number two from the stands during the game.Davies was also found guilty of using Insulting and/or abusive words to a Southend Steward and was fined a further £750 for this. The Rams manager accepts the first charge but plans to appeal against the second. The FA seem to have come down lightly on Davies after he was involved in other incidents through out the promotional season. We are sure the fiery Scot will not let this setback mare his triumphal first game in the Premiership as a manager.
