Claude Davis, looks to be heading back to Derby after Crystal Palace reveal they can't afford his wages.
Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has announced that he is unlikely to take up the option of signing 30 year-old Rams defender Claude Davis.

Davis has enjoyed his time with Palace despite only featuring in five games since his loan move in January but Warnock feels that with two years left still to run on his Derby County contract the asking price for Davis and his high wages would make it impossible for the Eagles to afford him.

Davis was a £3m signing from Sheffield United by Billly Davis during the ill fated Premiership season. Injury and poor form saw Claude miss a large proportion of games during his time with the Rams and he was loaned out to Crystal Palace in January and will remain with them till the end of this season.

it is unlikely that Rams new boss Nigel Clough will have Davis in his future plans for Derby County, so either the club takes a huge loss on Davis or they may well negotiate a mutually acceptable agreement which enable Davis to move on in the summer.
