Deon Burton wants to go on transfer list after a fialed attempt by Portsmouth to sign him
Striker Deon Burton has asked to be placed on the transfer list following an unsuccessful attempt by Portsmouth to buy Burton this week. Deon had been on loan to Portsmouth but had to return to Pride Park after breaking a bone in his foot.

Portsmouth are said to have offered only £75,000 for the striker, which was instantly dismissed by Derby County.

Rams fans are a little angry with Portsmouth assistant manager Jim Smith. As it appears he is the force behind the bid to take Burton to Fratton Park having bought Burton from Portsmouth in 1997 whist manager of the Rams. The miserly figure offered is seen as a huge slap in the face for Derby County.
