A strong rumour has circulated linking Scottish International centre back Grant Hanley with a move to the Rams.
Hanley is a burley six foot three inch defender and would be a good addition to the Rams squad. At twenty four years of age he is just coming into his prime, has a small amount of Premiership experience and twenty three Scottish International caps.
Grant was the Blackburn Rovers player of the Year last year after coming back from knee ligament damage, which kept him out for much of the previous season.
Hanley still has two years to run on his present contract with Rovers so a fee will be payable, rumoured to be as high as £5m, however his true value at present is believed to be around the £2m mark. Interest from Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday may result in a bidding war and further interest from his native Scotland comes from Rangers.
No comment yet from Derby County on the speculation.
