Derby County have announced that they have embarked on a new partnership with American soccer side Michigan Wolves-Hawks.
The Wolves have over 30 years experience in training young players and the Rams are to send out trainers and assesors to help improve the Wolves and to scout for young talent.
Derby County will also be providing financial support for the U16 and U18 squads of the Michigan Wolves-Hawks. In return for the assistance the squads will be re-named Derby County Wolves.
Not to sure what Rams fans will think of this new name as Wolverhampton Wanderers are one of our biggest Midland rivals. However Andy Appleby sees the joint venture as promotion of the Derby County name to a wider audience and as the Michigan Wolves-Hawks are in to top of the American football tree it will certainly get the Rams noticed...
