Ex Rams player dies aged 91

It has just been announced that former Derby County, Bolton and Oldham player, David Halford has died aged 91.

Born on the 19th October 1915 David played amateur football for Rowntrees FC before moving on to Scarborough and turn professional. David move to the Derby County in December 1932 but found life hard and only managing a few games for the Rams as he was understudy for the great Daly Duncan.

Halford moved on from the Rams in June 1936 for a fee of £3,000 to Bolton. His final club was Oldham Athletic in 1938.

Halford never forgot his time with the Rams and supported the Former Players Association dinner when ever possible.
