Could ex Ram Craig Short be a target for the January sales?
Recent word in the media is of John Gregory being able to operate in the transfer market after one or two star players are sold next month.

With this in mind Derby County Mad has been surfing the transfer market and the players currently with 6 months or less to run on their present contract.

Here is an ex Rams selection of players who may be back in a Rams shirt should their present club not need their services…

1.. Darryl Powell, currently with Birmingham City in the Premiership but Darryl will be out of contract in January

Chris Powell
Chris Powell, went on to play for England after leaving the Rams
2… Chris Powell, Currently with Charlton Athletic, contract ends June 2003. Chris was one of several class players to be sold off cheap, £85,000 to Charlton. Since his move there he has gained full England caps and even at the age of 33 could do a job for the Rams.

3… Craig Short, currently with Blackburn Rovers. At 34 Craig is nearing his sell-by date but he insists that he can carry on at the top until he is 36. Craig however will be 35 in June of next year. Craig’s contract runs out at Blackburn in June 03.

4…Lars Bohinen Currently playing with Valerenga in Norway. Lars didn’t have the best of times at Pride Park and has been injured for lengthy periods following his departure from the Rams.

5…Sean Flynn. A blast from the past this Sean still plays and is currently on Kidderminster Harriers books until June next year. This small but tigerish midfielder was many a Rams fans favourite during his stay with the Rams.

Right! That’s the ex Rams brigade who could conceivably make a return to Pride Park if they will work for the peanuts we will be offering in the near future.

What about other names that could be playing in the Black and White before long! Here are a few of my favourites currently nearing the end of their contract…

Gabriel Batistuta

2…Tim Sherwood

3…Paulo Di Canio
