Rams Vs Rangers
On Bank Holiday Monday 1st May at 10.30am battle will commence at the Christchurch Meadow ground, home of Belper Town FC. Members of the Ramsnet internet mailing list will take on a team from the Rangers Trust.
This game is a prelude to the major attraction of the day which is former Derby County and Rangers star Ted Mc Minn's testimonial game to be played at Pride Park home of Derby County Football Club. Three thousand Rangers fans are expected to make the long journey South to pay tribute to the Scottish winger. The benefit match was arranged following pressure from the Derby County Trust after The Tin Man's leg had to be amputated at the knee following a mysterious infection. Ted has also just completed a bike ride from the Rangers ground to Pride Park just months after the operation, which shows the courage and determination the man has and showed for both sets of supporters during his time playing in their colours.
Hopefully both games will be full of fun and friendly sporting action . With fans as fanatical as Derby County and Rangers we expect a huge amount of money to be raised for Ted.
