Has Pickering does a U-turn on Richardson and the bond?

A huge dark cloud hangs over Derby County today. The spectre of the recent past has reappeared on the horizon and Rams fans are not at all happy.

Yes! Brian Richardson is said to be nearing the completion of a bond deal that could place Derby County in more financial debt than it can deal with. Richardson was sent packing, or so we thought by Lionel Pickering in October.

The bond issue would release Mr Pickering’s investment in the club and he would presumably stand down as Derby County Chairman as he has stated in previous newspaper articles once he has his money. However it is the club and the fans that would end up picking up the price tag of the bond. The interest would cripple the club and make transfers and improvements in the club almost impossible.

Both RamsTrust and the Derby County Supporters Association are against the bond and especially against the return of Mr Richardson, the ex Chairman of Coventry City who left that club with a rumoured £60million debt.

“The whole thing stinks MR PICKERING” and the sooner a statement is forthcoming from the board as to the involvement of Mr Richardson the better. Is he working independently or on the private payroll of Lionel Pickering?
