A quick brace from the Brazilian ace Junior gave the Rams a 2-1 victory in a behind closed doors friendly against Notts County at the Moor Farm training complex yesterday.
This was the first known scheduled game since players reported back for pre-season training.
Also in the Derby line-up was an unrecognized trialist.
In other Derby news yet another game has fallen foul to a change to the details released in the official fixture list when it was published. The New Year’s day fixture against Cardiff City has been brought forward on police advice from 3.00pm to a midday kick off.
New club secretary Marian McMinn said of the change: - "We appreciate this may prove an
inconvenience to some of our fans and that the news follows the release of
the fixtures, which have thrown up a number of midweek games this season.
"But this decision will not have been taken lightly and we have to take into
consideration any such request made by the police, who are acting in the
best interests of supporters."
