The Clarets have agreed a undisclosed fee for the player with Derby and it is now just a matter of a medical and personal contracts with Mears.
Tyrone was told he would never play for the Rams again by then boss Paul Jewell after he snook away to join Marseilles. A hastily arranged season long loan was organised for Mears who then enjoyed European football with the French club, but Jewell and the Rams bosses were not pleased with the way Mears conducted himself and was warned he would never play for the Rams again.
The deal is seen as good for all parties as Mears was a top earner whilst at the Derby and the Rams are looking to stream line their playing staff and wage bill for the coming season...
