Derby County have been handed a new injury blow after striker Nick Blckman had to receive surgery on a troublesome knee injury.
The injury was described as 'niggling' by Rams boss Steve McClaren, and the injury had become bad enough for Blackman to seek surgery to try and solve the problem.
Blackman has now undergone an operation on the troublesome knee and the surgeon has tidied up on or two things within the joint and it is now just a matter of how long Blackman takes to recover from the operation.
This is the second striker Derby have lost to injury in just a few weeks following the return to Manchester United of James Wilson, who also had a knee injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season.
