No parking in areas around Pride Park

A public outcry has forced the Local Highway and Transportation department to put up signs in streets surrounding Pride Park. This is in response to a 140 name petition from people in the Wilmorton area of the City. The residence claim that it is impossible to park outside their own homes on a match day.The authorities plan to put up “No Parking and Keep Clear signs in many areas and residents have called for a warden to patrol these areas on match days. It is not yet clear if a warden for match day duties would work, or even be cost effective. It is hoped the signs alone will reduce the problem and residents have welcomed the news.
