The gesture may be seen as a way of aiding Poom's return to the Premiership by the Estonian side. However they still stand to make £400,000 out of the deal if Poom is sold for the £6million the Rams are asking for.
Flora Tallinn president Aivar Pohglak said, “ Derby County would get £4.9million and Flora Tallinn would have received £1.1million. We are willing to waive the fee if Everton will pay £400,000 to us”.
Many Rams fans see the transfer of Poom as a big step backwards but with the banks refusing to sanction any cash for transfers till players are sold it may be the only solution open to Derby County.
