Pride Park prepares for tomorrow's Royal visit

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II comes to pride Park Tomorrow Thursday 1st August 2002. The visit is part of the Queens nationwide tour to mark her Golden Jubilee.HRH Duke of Edinburgh will accompany the Queen.
Doors open at Noon for the extravaganza. Here is a list of attractions.

- Derbyshire City and County Youth Band with 180-strong choir
- The Red Devils
- 300 choristers
- Ellen MacArthur
- Dave Mackay and championship medal winners
- 54 internationally renowned Gymnasts from Amber Valley and Derby City Gymnastic Display teams
- 280 dancers
- 42 cuddly football mascots in a 21-a-side soccer match
- 1,000 lbs. of fireworks
- 1,000,000 pieces of confetti
- 1,000 sq ft video screen so that no-one misses a second of the show as the Queen arrives

Former “Goodie” Tim Brooke Taylor will host the afternoon’s events. Tim now 60 was once one of the members of the hilarious comedy series "The Goodies" as well as being a former director of Derby County.
