Cry Harry for England, St George and Derby County !
What a fitting day to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the second English League title for the Rams. The manager was of course the recenly departed Dave Mackay and a great shame he is not with us to celebrate the occasion today.
Derby waited three more days before being presented with the League trophy before an unbelievable 38,000 at the Baseball Ground. standing room only that day ! The game that followed against Carlisle United was a real anti-climax, ending in a 0-0 draw.
The present Derby County squad need reminding of their predecessors and with a rallying cry fit for St George himself we must win five more games and go to the top tier of English football again this season.
