Clough is interested in John Brayford, a 21 year old full back who played under Clough from 2006 until his departure to Crewe on the 1st September 2008, making 77 appearances for the Brewers and scoring 7 goals. His departure for Crewe was for a fee of £80,00.
John made an immediate impact at Crewe and was voted their player of the Year last season, playing in 36 matches and scoring twice. John is a 6ft defender and Clough hopes to have him playing along with former Burton Albion colleague Jake Buxton, who agreed to join the Rams yesterday.
Brayford has also had International recognition, having played 7 times for the England C team.
