Derby County have placed an official complaint to the Football League after Nottingham Forest failed to pay monies owed to them for seats at last month’s East Midlands derby at the Ipro at the Ipro Stadium.
The Rams are owed £85,000 for the seat tickets and so far Forest have not replied to requests for the amount owed. Normally the CEO of a club is approached over these matters but Forest haven’t had one in place since last year, so Derby were forced to go to the Football League.
A club spokesman has said that the situation regarding the unpaid amount was unprecedented, and all other teams in the Championship had paid within the seven day ruling for the tickets.
This adds to the problems at present at the City Ground, after the 5-0 drubbing by Derby County and the subsequent sacking of manager Billy Davies. The Trees have also slide out of the play-off places in recent weeks and the club looks in turmoil.
Derby County submitted their complaint last Friday and we wait to see what action the Football League will take...
