The Rams finished their year of celebration for the clubs 125 year anniversary with a star studded event at the Quad in Derby City centre.

The proceedings were compared by commentating legend John Motson, who's father is a Rams fan and son Fred is a Derby County Season Ticket owner.

The assembled fans and invited guests were treated to a look at the life and work of Brian Clough and Peter Taylor, who will be subject of a statue to be raised outside the club later in 2010 and on parade were seven of the Rams all time team, voted for by readers of the Derby Telegraph.

One notable omission from the team was Kevin Hector, voted as one of the two all time strikers for the club along side Steve Bloomer. Members of the All Time team making the event included Roy McFarland, Colin Boulton, Ron Webster, David Nish, Alan Durban, Archie Gemill and all the way from his American home, Alan Hinton.

Stephano Eranio was also due to attend but a sudden family commitment meant he could not attend.

The plinth on which the bust is placed was constructed with bricks from the C-stand of the Baseball Ground that had been saved for just such a purpose.

Lionel Pickering had a well deserved commemorative entrance built in his memory outside the North west stand also built with bricks saved from the baseball ground and topped with the triangular capping stones from the Player and Directors entrance at the old ground.

So as the year comes to an end the Rams have celebrated their history. Nigel Clough hopes to be creating more proud history in the coming years. John Motson closed proceedings by wishing success to Derby County and its supporters...
