Geoff Barrowcliffe passed away on Sunday after battling Alzhiemers disease.
The left back was just one of seven players ever to have played more than 500 time for the Rams.
Born in Ilkeston on the 18th October 1931, Geoff made his debut for the Rams in 1950 and was part of the Division three North Championship winning side for Derby County. He also scored 39 goals for Derby, which is a good rate for a right back.
Geoff moved from the Rams in 1966, joining Boston United, then moving on to Heanor Town, Moorgreen Colliery and finally Long Eaton United. He also played for the ex-Rams side until he was 60 years of age.
Management came at local level for Geoff becoming gaffer at Long Eaton United in 1974, he also spent four year of Kimberley Town (1977-81). Coaching Radford before again taking over as manager before his final two appointments at Rolls Royce and finally Sandiacre Town in 1996...
