The Rams failed to extend their winning run of friendly games last night when held to a 0-0 draw by Torquay United.
Nigel Clough experimented and played two trialists from the kick-off. Scott Neilson the Cambridge City winger played for 76 minutes of the game before being replaced by Lee Croft. Saul Deeney played the full game in goal. Clough then played his third trialist, Arsenal’s Mark Randell in the second half.
The Rams struggled to create chances in the game and it was Steven Davies who nearly broke the dead-lock when a headed chance was saved by the Torquay keeper, as he pushed the ball onto the post.
Derby will conclude their tour of the West Country when they take on Exeter City on Saturday afternoon...
