On the 8th September 1888 Derby County along with eleven other clubs formed the Football League and to mark the anniversary all clubs will be honoured by being presented this weekend with their plaque.
The Rams will have to wait just that bit longer for their award as they don't play Blackburn Rovers until Sunday, Rovers incidentally also to receive a plaque as one of the founder members.
The teams honoured are Accrington, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton, Burnley, Everton, Notts County, Preston North End, Stoke, West Bromwich Albion, Wolves and of course Derby County. (Accrington Stanley will receive a plaque on behalf of Accrington)...
