Rams land Kuqi on three month loan

Shefki Kuqi joins the Rams and will play in tomorrows Rams clash with Hull City

The 33 year old is currently on loan from Swansea City, a side he joined in January of this year but has found it difficult to break into the Swans side, even though his departure to the Rams leaves the Welsh side with only one striker.

Kuqi has travelled widely during his career and Derby County will become his 13^th club, hopefully it will not be unlucky 13 for Derby. He has played over 500 games during his career and scored over 100 goals.

Manager Nigel Clough, has stated that Shefki's loan will add presence to the Rams attack and he is "Big strong and been a goalscorer wherever he has been .

An accomplished Finnish International Kuqi has the experience at the top level and will hopefully be able to hold the ball in and around the penalty area and enable the Rams attack minded players such as Kris Commons and Tomasz Cwyka to add a much larger threat to the opposition goal than in recent weeks.

At six feet two inches in height Kuqi will certainly pose more ariel threat. Height was something lacking during the game at the weekend as several good crosses were not met by a Rams forward.

Shefki will go straight into the Rams squad to face Hull City tomorrow night. ..
