Michael Hoganson has today joined Derby County on a one year deal. He has been brought into the Rams squad primarily as a player for the new U21 league side for Derby but Nigel Clough admits he has talent and room to improve to try and earn a place in the first team set-up.
Hoganson is just 18 years of age and released by Newcastle United at the end of last season. His primary position is left back, Clough again hopeing he will provide cover there when needed. Hoganson's skills don't stop at left back though, and he can play wide on the left hand side of midfield, again giving the Rams more options and cover.
A Rams XI have a game tonight against Belper Town at Christchurch meadow, Belper, but it is not yet known if Hoganson will be given a game...
