Rams legend International cap auction sale

On the 27th October some of Rams history will go up for sale. Billy Steel was a Rams legend just after the second World War. He joined Derby County in 1947 until 1950, playing 109 times for the Rams and scoring 27 goals.

Billy's International career for Scotland was also a great success playing 30 times for his country and netting on 12 occasions.

The auction will see just one of Billy's caps go under the hammer. It commemorates the International matches he played in during the 1949-50 season, which were against England, Ireland and Wales. Please click here, or on the photograph (above) to view the auction description of this item.

The auction will be under the supervision of the David Convery's sporting memorabilia auctions and will be at the Royal Highland Showground on Wednesday 27th October 2010. The auction begins at noon. Billy's cap will be lot number 174 and has an auction estimate of £1500-£2000.

The auction also will feature the sale of the Nobby Stiles Collection. This includes his 1966 World Cup winners medal, which is expected to raise £100,000-£150,000...
