Far be it from Derby County Mad to tell the footballing brains at Pride Park their job. We do however find it a little strange that a club that has dispensed with its manager to be still arranging loans or trials with players.
Even stranger than that the powers that be at Derby County are arranging trials with overseas players. Now correct me if I am wrong here but didn't Archie Gemmill (our previous overseas scout) get his marching orders not long after Colin Todd?
So who has recommended these players? We refer of course to Parma Duo Giampiero Maini and Sergei Gurenko, now training with the Rams.
Do the club already know who is taking over at Pride Park? It seems strange to us here at Derby County Mad to be even viewing players if a manager has not yet been appointed. Would he want these players?
Anyway here is the low down on the two Parma players we are currently running the rule over…
|
Giampiero Maini
is 30 years old and plays in midfield. He has been a useful player in his career and has played for AC Milan (as seen in picture).Has recently returned from a loan spell and has not played for Parma this season.
|
Gurenko has managed only one game for Parma this season.
Both of these players can't command a regular place in a poor Parma team, which now sits in 16th place in Serie A just two places off the bottom.
The Parma manager said this about the two players; "Maini and Gurenko are in fine form". We beg to ask then, why he doesn't play them in his relegation-threatened team?
