Den Haag win 1-0 against Derby County

A close encounter tonight ended in a 1-0 defeat for the Rams against Dutch Premier League side Den Haag.

The Rams kept Den Haag at bay for 73 minutes before a strike from Yuri Cornelisse broke the deadlock.

The Rams played in a 4-5-1 formation with Paul Dickov the loan striker but despite some good work from the diminutive striker a way past the Den Haag defensive could not be found.

Derby did use the friendly game to improve the match fitness of players coming back from injury and illness. Miles Addison was impressive in the central defensive role. He played for eighty minutes before being replaced by Shaun Barker.
Dean Leacock, recovering from mumps accompanied Addison in central defense and the two played well together.

Paul Green continued his come-back and climb to full match fitness in the game and the Rams now look to have options at last in several positions on the pitch.

The Rams now have a weeks rest before resuming in the Championship with an away trip to Swansea next Friday...
