Talks to try and bring Scottish U19 midfielder Craig Bryson to Pride Park are underway. Bryson has impressed Billy Davies during his trial period this week with the Rams.
Davies was particularly pleased with the youngsters energy and his ability to fit in with the rest of the Derby County Squad.
An offer is expected to be put to Clyde in the next few days and they are not expected to stand in the youngsters way if he wanted to move South to Derby.
Several Scottish Premier League sides were also thought to be interested in Bryson, but with Derby poised to reach the English Premier League, the Rams may be a more attractive deal.
