The Rams were under the assumption that Vaughan would return to Pride Park for a second loan spell this season following his recovery from injury sustained whilst on loan with the Rams.
The move to Leicester could also be a permenant one as the Foxes go for promotion to the Premiership. This is also seen as a reason for the U-turn by Vaughan and Everton, as the Foxes are serious about buying Vaughan, where Derby were looking for a season long loan of the striker.
