The Rams agreed to pay Bordeaux the money when Francois Grenet joined Derby County in November of last year. Now Bordeaux legal representative Les Girondins claims that the money has not been paid and he has approached a British law firm to handle negotiations with FIFA.
Grenet has been a disappointment at Pride Park since his move and has only played a dozen Premiership games last season. John Gregory does not seem to include Grenet in his plans for next season and Bordeaux do not want to take the player back.
The whole situation could get very complicated with the Rams already in debt to an estimated £30million and Bordeaux Chairman Jean-Louis Triaud insisting that the £3million is paid very soon.
