Derby County have sensationally sacked their manager Paul Clement with immediate effect.
With results not going the way most had expected in recent weeks the sacking was on the cards if not expected before the end of the current season.
Rams Chairman Mel Morris has invested around £25m in the playing squad and was looking to get the Rams up to the Premiership this time around after near things in the last two seasons.
Derby had topped the Championship at Christmas but a series of poor results have seen the Rams drop down to 5th place after a disappointing draw with Fulham at the weekend.
The Rams will now have Academy boss Darren Wassell in the managers seat until the end of the current season.
