The long awaited start to the pre-seaon friendlies has started and the Rams had an emphatic win on their travels to Ireland.
Derby won the game by six goals to one and both first half goals were courtesy of new signing Johnny Russell. It took just nine minutes for Russell to get on the scoresheet as a Rams player and looks on this showing to be money well spent by Nigel Clough.
The Rams were pegged back in the game after the fine start and conceaded an equalising goal in the 15th minute but the Rams plugged on and at the interval were 1-2 up thanks to Russell's second goal for the Rams.
All change at half time as the other half of the Rams squad took to the pitch, with young Mason Bennett surprisingly in central midfield. There has been rumour of Bennett going out on loan to get more experience but maybe Clough has other ideas?
The second half Derby took Bohemians apart with further goals from Callam Ball, Ben Davies, Paul Coutts and Conor Sammon.
A resounding win for what has been described by Nigel Clough himself as the best squad he has had during his term as manager...
