Derby County are having a revolution this coming season, not on the pitch, or even in training but in the season tickets sold to supporters.
The Rams have teamed up with Tickets.com a company that will bring ticketing at Pride Park into the 21st century. The company is owned by the Major League baseball.
Derby’s CEO Tom Glick has said that this technology is “a giant step forward” for the club and the fans.
The actual ticket will be a credit card sized smartcard that fans will have scanned when entering the ground. The innovation is said to make entry easier to the ground and also has safety implications for all fans.
The tickets will be first used for the opening game of next season on the 8th August, when Derby County take on Peterborough United in the opening game of the 2009-10 Championship season...
