The controversy over the naming of streets on the old Baseball Ground continues to simmer on.
Rams Trust’s Ian Hayes started the ball rolling with a complaint that numerous Rams fans were denied the chance to vote as Derby County had decided that after a selection process that had seen the list of potential names chosen from suggestions made to the Derby Evening Telegraph that the final vote would be restricted to season ticket holders only.
The Rams Trust argument was a twofold one.
Firstly that many supporters were disenfranchised by either being denied the chance to suggest names in the first place or prevented from taking part in the vote through not being season ticket holders.
The full response from the club can be seen on the official DCFC website, but in short, according to the reply, Rams Trust were present at the meetings when the strategy for choosing street names was formulated and were happy to go along with it.
The voting was restricted to season ticket holders as they were the only group of Rams supporters that the club could guarantee were genuine and not trying to influence the voting for mischevious reasons.
The club concluded, however, that nothing was currently set in stone and Walbrook Housing would take onboard any serious concerns.
Elsewhere ex-Rams on the move are Steve Elliott who has signed a three year deal with Bristol Rovers and Adam Murray who has moved from Kidderminster Harriers to Mansfield where he spent a very successful loan spell while still on the books at Derby
