With the Rams finances very much in the news this week, disturbing news is coming through that none of the Rams players and staff at Pride Park have been paid for their work.
Nobody at the club has had wages for the month of August. Although one explaination may be that legal work required over the takeover bids and the associated problems this has brought with paper work, this may have contributed to the lateness of the payments.
Players where aware of the situation before taking to the field for Saturday victory over Stoke City. It now remains to be seen if the payements are just held up or if the financial state of the club has worsened to such an extent that they can no longer pay the staff.

Another report has claimed that manager John Gregory has had to put his hand in his own pocket to pay a hotel bill. The Hotel in question was in Rotherham where the Rams where playing on bank holiday Monday (August 26
th). The bill was said to have been around £2000 and if true this deepens the worry fans must have over Derby County Football club’s very existence in the coming weeks.
