Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage has reacted furiously to rumours that the players think the club's backroom staff are not up to the job.Savage has launched a scathing attack after hearing a phone-in on BBC Radio Derby following Saturday's 4-1 home mauling at the hands of Scunthorpe.
Savage said: "The backroom staff are up to the job - no question in my mind and no question in the players' minds.
"I sit in that dressing room and they are to the job and so is the manager."
The defeat means that Nigel Clough's side are in 18th spot in the Championship table. They are five points above the relegation zone but have played more games than all the teams around them.
In a heated interview, Savage admitted recent displays and performances have simply not been good enough.
"All you can do is go out there and try your best and on Saturday and in the last three home games it hasn't been good enough," Savage added.
"I'm sure after Saturday's performance the manager would have liked to have got 16 more players and said 'listen, you lot are not playing against Millwall, I'm going to get my own players in' but he can't, simple."
