Derby County are expected to see Jason Shackell coming to have a medical today after a third bid rumoured to be £1m has been accepted by Barnsley. The Rams had previously had bids in the region of £700,00 rejected.
The central defender is a left footed player and it is hoped will form a well balanced partnership next season with Shaun Barker, who has just undergone surgery for a troublesome knee injury.
The Rams are said to be sweetening the Shackell deal with a season long loan to Barnsley of powerful midfielder Miles Addison. The twenty two year old has been beset by an injury to his foot and after a successful re-appearance for the Rams is looking to improve his fitness with the Tykes. Addison has just had his contract renewed for a year by Derby, who hope the loan will see him return to his pre injury form and back into the Rams squad...
