Derby County could be about to delve into the loan market after Steve Davies was forced out of action after catching his studs in the Pride Park Turf during Saturdays game. The extent of his injured ankle and knee will be known later this week. If the damage is found to need a lengthy resting period or surgery Nigel Clough will look for a loan striker.
Davies’ scans will be looked at by the Rams medical staff when available this week and Clough is poised to make a loan application this week if necessary.
Rob Hulse, who himself is recovering from I injury is the Rams only recognised striker after Luke Varney went on loan until the New Year with Sheffield Wednesday.
Kris Commons may also be drafted into forward action if a suitable loan signing can’t be made...
