It is always good to have a decisive manager and Gary Rowett certainly seems to know what he wants from his Derby County team.
In a statement he has said, "I knew exactly what was needed from day one" and it seems the Rams squad has been under Rowett's observations for some time. He claims to have watched nearly every Derby County game of the last eighteen months over a three day period after taking over as manager.
Rowett as also studied all of his players and in the remaining games has undertaken to watch, assess and give all his charges a chance to impress and have a future at Pride Park.
Certain players come with reputations and Rowett is well aware that he needs to look past those reputations and see the real player and his skills, capabilities and potential and will give every player a chance to change any pre-concieved opinions he may have had of them.
It certainly looks as though there will be a heavy cull of players during the summer, as Rowett tries to create a squad playing his type of football. So roll on the 2017-18 season and a squad playing the Rowett Way !
