The former Villa Defender will join Derby County on an initial months loan. Wright is now a veteran at 34 but could still be the final part in the jigsaw that sees the Rams avoid relegation from the Championship.
Wright however may be short on first team fitness as the defender has not played for the Blades first team since November 2005.
