Southampton football club have made some strong accusations against Billy Davies and the Derby County team that won 1-2 in Saturday's first leg at St Mary's. The Saint's official website claims that Derby County used "strong arm tactics" and repeatedly kicked Gareth Bale, causing the injury which saw him leave the game and end the day on crutches.
Davies says the claims are nonsense and Bale twisted an ankle rather than sustained the injury from any tackle

The Southampton website goes on to whinge about "whooping and hollering" by the Rams players and staff after the victory. Who can blame a side that had come back to win a game after such an early set back, as Southampton took the lead with just 7 minutes.
The claim that Derby County kicked and battered their way back into the game seems to be just sour grapes from the Hampshire side.
Looks like a case of big Mary's from St Mary's !
