The Rams took the two-goal lead through till half time. Tottenham had what seemed to be a better start to the second half as Matt O’hallaran was sent off for Derby. The dismissal came after O’hallaran was booked for a second time in the match for diving. He had earlier been booked after an exchange with Spurs Steffan Freund.
With the Rams down to ten men Tottenham came more into the match but some great stops by Derby Keeper Andy Oakes kept the score in the rams favour.
The game was end to end but the Rams scored their third goal with just ten minutes remaining. Adam Murray slotting home after Fabrizio Ravanelli had held the ball up well inside the area.
